Zac has signed a hard hat to benefit “Habitat For Humanity”. The charity is dedicated to eliminating housing poverty worldwide and have helped more than 1 million people since it was founded.

About growing up: Efron may play the role of the popular kid the Disney movies High School Musical, but high school was not the same for Zac while growing up: “I was average. I had a lot of friends, but I was not in that ultracool circle.”

About arguing with his parents: “Oh man, it seemed like every weekend I was in trouble for something! Our disagreements were over small things like curfew. If I got home late, I would get chewed out…I fought a lot with my little brother. We were brawlers and I would always get grounded. If I had big plans with friends for the weekend—camping or boating or surfing at the beach—I wasn’t allowed to go.”

What his parents did not know about him: “I was a bit of a class clown- I guess to get through the tedium of the quadratic formula! I thought everyone was fair game.”

Advice to parents who want to relate to their kids: “I’ve always appreciated my mom’s ability to listen to me. Even today I can vent my frustration or share my happiness because she made it clear long ago that she wanted to hear what I had to say. I’m thankful to have had that, because between self-discovery and the social hierarchy, high school can be the most confusing time of your life.”
