“Me and Orson Welles” US Theaterical Release Date
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly announces in their Fall Movie Preview that the Richard Linklater 1930’s period film, “Me and Orson Welles” starring Zac Efron, Claire, Danes, and Christian McKay will be released in North American theaters on Wednesday November 25, 2009! Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was released on a Wednesday, if I’m not mistaken. I think Fridays are the ‘norm’ for a theatrical debut, but I’ve definetly heard of movies- even big blockbusters, that were released on Wednesdays.

This is grrrrrrreat news!! I was seriously just thinking that I needed to see Efron on the big screen again and voila…we get a solid date.
Week nights work better for me for a girls night anyway, so the Wednesday release is perfect! haha

They release them on a Wednesday to give them a longer opening weekend. They usually do this for blockbusters to make them seem really successful but its weird that this is for an indie movie!

They are releasing it on Wednesday November 25th to take advantage of Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Okay I know this may seem like a stupid question especially considering you said “North American theatres” but I was wondering if Canada would get MAOW on the same day too? I mean I remember hearing like last year the Miramax picked it up for a Canadian release but there’s been a lot of doubtful people

Desiree – this is pure speculation but one of the other girls in the fandom who is in Canada speculates that there is no Canadian release date at the moment, particularly as she didn’t get the MAOW trailer in her copy of 17 Again; but in the US and UK versions the MAOW trailer was featured.

Audrey – ranting gets me more upset about it. I’ve actively ranted and cried. Every time I see people all excited I want to leap through the screen and throttle them. So if I keep it simple, then it’s like I am harnessing the negative energy back. So the answer is no.

“So the answer is no” is now a new motto for me. I actually do understand the dissapointment/frustration (and any other emotions I may have left out). I still don’t know if Ashley’s “Guilty Pleasure” was released in Australia. I’ll leave it alone, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that an Australian date is announced sooner than later.
