It was announced today by the MTV team that Zac will be presenting an award at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.

The event is being held on Sunday April 14 at the Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, Los Angeles and will air live on MTV at 9pm. The show will be hosted by Rebel Wilson and stars also in attendance include Seth Rogen, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Sandler and more!

Although he was nominated in 2011, Zac last attended the show in 2010 where he presented the award for Best Comedic Performance and was nominated for Best Male Performance. For a flashback, take a look at our coverage here and here!

It’s been an incredible year for Zac and his fans!

The year got off to a great start in February with the release of ‘The Lorax’ , Zac travelled the world encouraging his fans to ‘let it grow’ and re-telling one of ‘Dr Seuss’s most popular stories. He travelled across America, to Madrid and Rome, greeting fans and starring in interviews, and for all the cast and crew’s hard work, the movie broke Box Office Records!

In March and April, it was the turn of ‘The Lucky One’ to be released. Once again, Zac travelled the world – although slightly more extensively this time – visiting Australia, London, Berlin and more for promotion.

In May, New Year’s Eve was released on DVD and Zac visited the renowned Cannes Film Festival for the promotion of upcoming movie The Paperboy. After a quiet summer, Zac was at film festivals again, this time Venice with At Any Price and the Toronto International Film Festival with The Paperboy and At Any Price. He also made a sneaky appearance in Josh Radnor’s indie movie Liberal Arts to great critical acclaim.

He also appeared on Punk’d, made a guest appearance on Sesame Street and, after a lot of hassling from fans, joined Twitter (where he now has more than 2.5 million followers) and Facebook (where he now has more than 4.2 million likes!)! This year was another first for Zac – his first endorsement! Zac joined Penshoppe’s AllStars for their seasonal campaigns and in September took a trip out to The Phillipines for an intense fan convention and vacation with his family.

Zac finished 2012 in New York City with his family, shooting upcoming drama Are We Officially Dating – we cannot WAIT to see it! He’ll be moving onto shooting historical thriller Parkland straight after in Texas.

Its been a great year for ZacE.ZAAngels.com too! On top of our usual postings, we made contact with Zac’s team for appearance and rumor confirmation, started a whole new gallery with photos all the way back to the beginning of Zac’s career, sat front row at the Graham Norton Show recording in London, and much more!

Variety are reporting that Zac has signed on to join the upcoming indie drama ‘Parkland‘:

Zac Efron and Marcia Gay Harden have joined the cast of “Parkland,” the indie drama about the assassination of John F. Kennedy that will mark the directorial debut of scribe Peter Landesman.

Efron will portray Dr. Charles Carrico, a surgeon at Parkland Memorial Hospita, where Kennedy was rushed on Nov. 22, 1963 and later pronounced dead. Pic chronicles the events leading up to JFK’s assassination and Abraham Zapruder’s famous documentation of the event. Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton and Jacki Weaver came on board the project during AFM in late October. Variety first reported on Aug. 16 that Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman were producing “Parkland.”

The film, to be shot in Austin, Texas, is being planned for a 2013 U.S. theatrical release to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the assassination.

UPDATE: We can now confirm, thanks to Zac’s team, that he has signed onto the movie ‘Parkland’ – EXCITING!

Zac is one of the stars of the new ‘Vote 4 Stuff‘ campaign. The PSA encourages young voters to express the issues they are most passionate about in the upcoming elections by creating online content about concerns they feel should get presidential attention. It also urgers young people to register and vote in November.

Alongside stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Edward Norton, Ellen DeGeneres, Selena Gomez and the hilarious Jonah Hill, the campaign launched today (October 1st) and you can get involved on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Some of the video responses left on the PSA, will be used in future campaign videos so be sure to get your thinking caps on and your cameras out to take part just like Zac!

Thanks to his publicist, we can confirm that Zac will be appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live alongside Jack Black and Kyle Gass next week! The episode will air on Thursday, October 4th at 12/11c on ABC – tickets to attend the recording are still available so if you live in the LA area be sure to have a look at 1iota.com for details!

We can also confirm that Zac will be making an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show alongside Rebel Wilson, and British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran on the same day! Check your local listings for network details and air times!

Also, as we previously announced, Zac will be making a guest appearance on the 43rd season of Sesame Street. It has now been confirmed that he will be appearing in episode 4305 titled ‘Me Am What Me Am‘ which will air this Friday, September 28th. He will be in three segments including ‘Word On The Street‘, ‘Street Story with Mario Lopez‘ and a ‘Birdwalk Empire Spoof’.
