GQ’s 25 Most Stylish Men of 2012

Saturday, December 22nd, 2012

GQ Magazine have revealed their 25 Most Stylish Men of 2012, ranging from Frank Ocean at #25, to JayZ at #15 and David Beckham at #3. We’re excited to reveal that Zac has been placed in the #2 spot, beaten only by 007 himself, Daniel Craig - a fantastic accolade from such a stylish men’s website.

2012 was the year famous guys finally got serious about taking risks and looking good. These are best-dressed gents we saw on every red carpet, big event, and beyond this year ending today with the five men who stood stylishly above the rest.

Efron left every other young Hollywood twenty-something in his stylish wake this year by clearly caring about details. Each of the actor’s looks on and off the red carpet practically followed a GQ checklist of dressing directives for a young modern guy, from how clothes should fit, to investing in key pieces, to keeping it all simple but never boring.

‘The Lucky One’ Costumes

Sunday, December 16th, 2012

Entertainment Weekly currently have a feature on the Best Of 2012 and ‘The Lucky One‘ is included for its costumes! Check out an excerpt of this fantastic and eye-opening article on the creation of Zac’s wardrobe for the movie below.

There’s a whole different dynamic to dressing him, which I found really interesting about that project, because, of course, everybody knows and loves Zac and he’s so handsome, but this was a whole new twist for him. The character’s not a boy, he’s a man. And he’s not just a man, he’s a very strong guy who’s getting out of the military. He’s a little bit rough and tumble, in a way. What would that guy really wear? He’s not gonna have a skinny jean on, he’s gonna have a real old school look to him. He would wear Levi’s — classic cut Levi’s. So we went T-shirt and jeans for him, and let me tell you, there isn’t a man on earth that looks better in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt than Zac Efron, right? [Laughs]

Who thought creating a look so casual could be so difficult? Check out the full article HERE.

In other news, Zac is currently in New York City shooting his upcoming movie ‘Are We Officially Dating’ – check out all the info on the movie HERE.

Backstage Magazine (10/4 Issue)

Sunday, October 7th, 2012

Zac is featured on the cover and in an extensive editorial for the October 4th Issue of Backstage Magazine. Alongside a brand new image from a photoshoot with Henny Garfunkle during the Toronto International Film Festival, the issue recounts Zac’s career and discusses his future plans.

Efron is savvy about his shot at longevity in a fickle business. Unlike many actors who hit it big in their teen years, he has kept his head down and concentrated on the work. There have been no public scandals, no drunken outbursts, no reports of bad behavior on set. Efron is wise beyond his 24 years, saying, “I know I’ve been lucky. But it’s what you do with that luck afterwards that really defines whether you stick around.”

Efron points to the motif of “At Any Price” as a parallel to his career. “The theme of the movie is get big or get out,” he says. “That’s sort of the way I describe how a lot of people in Hollywood approach their careers—take the bigger movie for more money that people will see. Take the franchise, the part in your wheelhouse. But that’s not my goal. Instead of get big or get out, my goal is to get good and stay.”

First Look: ‘BlackBook Magazine’ Cover

Friday, September 7th, 2012

As previously posted, Zac took part in a cover shoot for ‘BlackBook Magazine‘ last month at the Wildlife Learning Center in California. Today, the publication released a first look at the issue’s October/November 2012 cover – their ‘Party Issue’.

We had some cute animals hang out with one of our favorite party animals: Zac Efron. He’s a cutie himself, although I think you’ll be surprised how grown up he’s become now that he’s starring in the gritty upcoming film, The Paperboy, directed by Academy Award-nominated director Lee Daniels and featuring a heavyweight cast…But it’s Efron who’s making a splash in the sexy thriller and, thankfully, on the cover of our next issue.

The issue hits newsstands later this month, so be sure to pick up a copy when it becomes available and check out a larger version of the cover in the ZacE Gallery. Of course, when more coverage of the issue is available, we will post here, so check back!

What do you think of the cover? Let us know in the comments below!

‘The Lucky One’ Top 10 Moments

Tuesday, August 28th, 2012

The Lucky One‘ is out on DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital Download today in the US and was released yesterday (August 27) in the UK.

To celebrate, check out a rundown of ‘My 10 Most Memorable Lucky One Moments’ below and be sure to let me know your most memorable ‘The Lucky One’ moment in the comments!

10. Finding The Photo In The Rubble - Zac looks like a very believable marine throughout and all of the war scenes at the beginning were beautifully done. The scene were Logan finds the picture of Beth in the rubble is the real turning point of the movie and the moment you want to come back to once you’ve found out what happens at the end!

9. Returning Home to Zeus - I can imagine that having someone or something special at home is one of the major things that keep troops going through their tours. Logan returning home to Zeus at his sisters home in Colorado and the following scenes of Logan’s turmoil are touching and totally relatable.

8. The Walking Sequence During The Credits - So atmospheric – it perfectly sets the scene for the emotions that are ahead for Logan and the state of turmoil he’s in when he leaves Colorado for Louisiana.

Teen Hollywood Interview

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

During The Lorax press junkets at Universal Studios earlier this month, Zac sat down with Teen Hollywood. They chatted about the film, the environment, voice acting, much more! Check out an excerpt from the interview below.

TeenHollywood: The theme of “The Lorax” is saving trees and our environment. Are you “green” at home?
Zac: I try to be green, as much as I can. It’s hard. I feel like I’m never doing enough. Here I am sitting and drinking out of a plastic bottle. That’s just what you get handed. I’ve always been searching for a way to get more involved and to help, and I felt like this movie, with the message that it has, was a really organic way to be able to help and get involved for me as an actor because there are only so many things you can do. This is a way, through a film, to teach and hopefully get the message out to young kids, and as they say in the movie it only takes one seed. So, I think we’re planting those seeds.

TeenHollywood: What was your background with Dr. Seuss books?
Zac: I have a lot of vivid memories of me and my parents reading these books. They would read them to me. It’s frozen in my mind. I can see them all. I still have them in what used to be my room, which has been turned in to the spare room at my house. I got kicked out. My little brother took over my room. Anyways… [he laughs].

Be sure to peruse the full interview HERE – its a great read.

Glamour.com Interview

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

Promotion is beginning to kick off for both The Lorax and The Lucky One, starting with a Glamour.com interview with Zac! He talks about The Lucky One, tearjerker movies, bulking up for roles, bad habits, relationships and more! This interview is featured in the March 2012 Issue of Glamour, so check back soon for scans. In the mean time, check out an excerpt below and the full interview HERE!

GLAMOUR: What was the hardest thing about doing your Lucky One role?
ZAC EFRON: It is sensitive playing a U.S. Marine sergeant. We met with a bunch of staff sergeants at Camp Pendleton. Most of them were my height, but they really had a lot of extra weight on them. So for the role I must have put on 25 pounds.

GLAMOUR: Was your diet crazy?
ZAC EFRON: If I could lay out on a table what I ate in one day, your jaw would drop. It was thousands and thousands of calories. One day I put three chicken breasts into a blender and hit “puree,” because I just couldn’t chew. Chewing was taking so long!
