According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zac is set to star in a brand new thriller entitled ‘Autobahn‘ and co-starring Amber Heard. Check out all the details below!

Zac Efron and Amber Heard have boarded IM Global’s chase thriller Autobahn, which Eran Creevy will shoot this fall on location in Germany.

In the script, written by F. Scott Frazier and Creevy, an American backpacker (Efron) is hired as a pickup driver for a gang of German drug smugglers. But when a job goes awry, he’s forced to flee from his employers, leading to high-speed chases around Munich. Heard will play his girlfriend.

IM Global, which will shop the project to foreign buyers in Cannes, says Autobahn is in the spirit of Gone in 60 Seconds and Unstoppable.

The release of the movie is getting closer and closer with a limited release on April 24th – we can’t wait to see it and hope you all love it! The movie is also being screened at the SxSW Festival in Mid-March so hopefully more media will be released around that time too.

After a few days off following the wrapping of ‘Are We Officially Dating?‘ in New York City, Zac has been at work on the set of the upcoming film Parkland for the past couple of weeks. His co-star Marcia Gay Harden shared an image of herself and Zac on set earlier this week stating:

#Parkland #movie so impressed w @zacefron. Working hard, bringing it to each scene..each moment. I am his newest fan!

We can’t wait to see how the movie turns out to finally see how this chemistry will work on screen!

In other Parkland news, THR is reporting that the movie has already been picked up for distribution by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions in many parts of Europe and Latin America. Plus, other companies have picked it up for distribution across various other territories including Australia, France and India! The movie is expected to be released in Fall 2013 in line with the 50th anniversary of the assassination.

 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zac and his production company Ninjas Runnin’ Wild have a new project in development which will see Zac take the executive producer and lead role in the movie ‘The Falling‘.

Zac Efron and Akiva Goldsman are teaming up for a mystery supernatural project at Warner Bros. titled The Falling.

Efron will star in the film and produce via his Warners-based Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Productions and Goldsman’s Weed Road banner. Also on board to produce are husband-and-wife team Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold of Safehouse Pictures.

Every effort is being made to protect the logline of the project, which is being described as an edgy thriller centering around an otherworldly being. The idea originated within the studio, which then presented it Goldsman and Efron. Goldsman and Harold, the screenwriter who worked on Warners’ upcoming Tom Cruise sci-fi movie All You Need Is Kill, then hammered out a story. The producers will now undertake a search for a screenwriter to take Falling, which is a working title, to the next level of development.

As the project is still in pre-production, with the script still in the very early stages of development, it’ll be a while until production begins but we can’t wait to hear more! As previously posted, Zac was nominated in two categories in this year’s People’s Choice Awards - these awards are nominated by and voted for by fans. We’re really excited to announce that Zac is the winner of the Favorite Dramatic Movie Actor category for his role in The Lucky One, beating Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum, Jake Gyllenhaal and Liam Neeson – definately a feat!

Unfortunately, due to filming commitments in New York City for ‘Are We Officially Dating, Zac wasn’t able to attend the awards show but he tweeted this gratitude to fans this evening stating:
