Zac to present at 82nd Academy Awards

Beverly Hills, CA (February 22, 2010) — Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart will present at the 82nd Academy Awards®, telecast producers Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic announced today. This will be Cyrus and Efron’s second appearance, and Lautner and Stewart’s debut on an Academy Awards telecast.//

Efron is currently working on “Charlie St. Cloud,” scheduled to be released later this year.  His other film credits include “Hairspray,” “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” “17 Again” and “Me and Orson Welles.”

The 82nd Academy Awards will air March 7th at 5PM PT/  PM ET on ABC.

2010 Kid’s Choice Award Nomination

Zac is a nominee in the “Favorite Movie Actor” category for the 2010 Kid’s Choice Awards. The award ceremony is set to air live from Los Angeles on March 27th at 8/7PM on Nickelodeon. Keep checking the official Kid’s Choice Award site and ZAAngels for updates and info on the awards!

“The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” Official Release Date!

In December, we posted that IMDB listed Zac’s new movie, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud would be released on June 11th, 2010. According to Deadline Hollywood,  a few of Universal’s upcoming releases have been revised and Charlie St. Cloud is one of them:

CHARLIE ST. CLOUD, starring Zac Efron, will be released on October 15th.”

“The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” Release Date Info

According to IMDB, Zac’s upcoming movie The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud is set to be released next year on June 11, 2010. In the Burr Steers (17 Again) directed drama, Zac  portrays a grief-stricken older brother (Charlie) overcome by the loss of his younger sibling (Sam, played by Charlie Tahan) and forced to make a choice between keeping a promise or finding love. *Update: Check out a film still ft. “MAOW” Update: U.S. Locations & International Release Dates

Both the U.S. and the UK MAOW Facebook has have put up some important release date information recently. As of now the movie is playing in these states in the United States: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Washington DC.

“MAOW” is named one of NBR’s Top Indie Films of 2009!

Me and Orson Welles has been made named one of the top ten Indie films of 2009 by the National Board of Review, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  This is is pretty high honor and is also good indicator for award season. Other Indie films mentioned were: Amreeka, District 9, Goodbye Solo, Humpday, In the Loop, Julia, Moon, Sugar and Two Lovers. To see the list of winners in all other categories click here.

Also in award news, according to Variety Christian McKay is nominated for a  Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male for Me and Orson Welles. Other actors nominated in this category are: Jemaine Clement – “Gentlemen Broncos”, Woody Harrelson – “The Messenger”, Raymond McKinnon – “That Evening Sun”, and Christopher Plummer – “The Last Station”.  The winners will be announced March 5th.
