Zac attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Maui Film Festival yesterday (June 17) in Hawaii before visiting the Celestial Cinema later that day for a screening. At the event, Zac recieved his ‘Shining Star Award‘ from the festival director Barry Rivers. Congratulations Zac!

Zac and Vanessa arrived at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Zac was clad in Dior Homme where the upcoming Charlie St.Cloud actor presented the “Best Comedic Performance” category. The 22-year-old was also up for an award for Best Male Performance (a category he nabbed last year for his turn in HSM3: Senior Year). Its just been announced that Zac is being honored with the “Shining Star Award” at the Maui Film Festival, reports Mark Malkin with E! Online.  He will be receiving the award during opening night festivities on June 16th at the Celestial Cinema.  Previous winners of this award include Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel.

The nominations for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards were revealed today after a long process of voting. We’re proud to reveal that Zac is nominated in the following category:

Voting is open from now until June 5th on the MTV Website so make sure you place your vote as Zac is in a tough category. Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will both be at the event on Sunday June 6th as they will be presenting! It will be hosted by Aziz Ansari, held in Los Angeles and aired on MTV at 9/8c.
