Efron’s late 1930′s based film “Me and Orson Welles” is tentatively slated to show at this years’ noted SXSW music and film festival.

Last month, talk hit the net spawned by an AOL sound bite from  actor Dwayne Johnson in regards to a possible “Johny Quest” remake.  Zac sets the record straight in an interview with Moviehole.com stating “[] They’re very, very early on [with it] – not that it won’t happen happen, it’s just early.”

According to People.com Zac will be appearing at the 2009 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, presented by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Other presenters include Hugh Jackman, Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and the Jonas Brothers! The awards ceremony airs on Nickelodeon on Saturday March 28th at 8pm.

Still no word from New Line reps on the date of the US premiere, but according to The Sydney Morning Herald, Zac will be returning to Australia for promotional gigs scheduled (dates TBD) in Melbourne and Sydney Australia for his upcoming starring role in 17 Again. The film hits Australian theaters April 16th.

Australia has been warm toward Zac, who appears to enjoy his time in the country as well. If it means more possible moments like THIS or THIS , then we’re good to go!

There has been a lot of debate in the past couple of months as to what Zac’s next movie role is going to be.  As of right now there is speculation that he will start filming Footloose in the summer of 2009. This includes a mid seven figure salary with script approval according to an article in Variety.  Also with the addition of Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who were supposedly brought on by Zac, the movie looks full speed ahead.

*Update: ”Right Here Right Now” did not premiere on Radio Disney. 

According to HSM-Extreme, Radio Disney is premiering HSM3′s “Right Here, Right Now” sung together by Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens on August 29 @ 3:00pm PT/6:00PM ET.  No word yet in the official site, but we’ll keep a look out for it.  In the meantime, what do you guys think about Disney premiering all these songs out before the movie is even released in theaters?
